Bressler For Everyone...
Young Vines for Now & Cabernet For Later!
|
Greetings!
This is a very limited offer on a pair of Napa reds that are very near and dear to my heart. Bob & Stacey Bressler are more than outstanding proprietors of Napa Valley Cabernet, they are also very good friends of mine. But lest you think I'm solely showing favoritism, their team that crafts the wine is legendary. In fact, the story of how the Bresslers got into the wine biz is the stuff of legend.
Purchasing a pristine plot in St. Helena alongside the Dr. Crane Vineyard, Bob and Stacey were paid a visit by their good friend and vineyard manager to the stars, David Abreu. David's list of clients is the who's who of Napa elite: Harlan Estate, Sloan, Pahlmeyer, Blankiet Estate, Colgin...the list goes on and on. David took one look at the place and insisted that they plant vines in addition to the sporadic existing plants. The Bresslers chuckled but quickly dismissed the idea. David begged again eventually showing up with tractors and workers ready to go. Finally relenting, the Bresslers couldn't have been happier with the decision. The final piece of the puzzle was bringing in winemaker Mia Klien who learned the craft at Chappelet under the tutelage of Cathy Corison. Mia's touch with Cabernet is rooted in elegance and deferential to food, having spent time as a chef before working in the wine business. These two wines are perfect for your upcoming Super Bowl plans as well as your cellar stocking. They are just flat out delicious! If you've never tried Bressler, you absolutely must... Cheers! 2008 Bressler Young Vines Red Napa Valley
Taking some of the fruit from the younger vines on their beautiful property in St. Helena, Bob & Stacey Bressler along with winemaker Mia Klein, have created a magnificent Bordeaux styled blend that made in a small batch by artisans. This wine is ready to drink and comprised of 49% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and a 1% spoonful of Petit Verdot. A tiny 120 cases are made of this blackberry, roasted coffee and cassis-laden effort that is supple and round and drinking to perfection. No need to rush as there is a bit of underlying structure afoot, but ready to crack open at a moments notice to delve into the wild rush of fruit. An absolutely lovely wine!

2007 Bressler Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Bob and Stacey Bressler are the owners of this "boutique" Napa Cabernet. Employing a tremendous winemaking team to oversee the production of their St. Helena fruit, the Bresslers put the singular goal of artistic site expression the focus. Superstars David Abreu (vineyard manager) and Mia Klein (the winemaker) help create what in my mind is the ultimate small-production, high quality wine. Just a scant 300 cases of this wine are produced annually. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this wine has the outstanding raw materials to stand up to its 25 month stint in new French oak. The 2007 Bressler is amazing...showing lots of dark berries, blackberry, cacao, spice cake and subtle smoky notes. A bold wine that will reward the patient, enjoy this now and over the next ten years.
Region: Napa, California Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot Vinification: 25 months in new French Oak Drink: Now - 2019 ABV: 14.5%

$72 per bottle on a solid case or more
