Gracie with wood chipsMable Halloween Haunt
Haunted House! Face Painting! Games! Food! Prizes! Where can I find all this fun and excitement? At the Mable Halloween Haunt, of course! The Haunt will take place in the Mable Gym and Cafeteria on Friday, October 28th from 6:00-10:00pm. Tickets can be pre-ordered or purchased at the door. Click here for more information and ticket order information.

Candy Drive
Every year we hold the Candy Drive around Halloween and collect extra, unused Halloween candy for the servicemen and servicewomen in the military. We are asking all of our families to Support our Troops this Halloween season by donating any collected candy to our Campus for donation. "Operation Candy" as we fondly call this drive has become an annual tradition at Citron and is a wonderful opportunity to teach our students about giving and supporting others. A collection box will be in the lobby from Monday, October 24th through Thursday, November 3rd. The candy will be donated from our campus accompanied with letters written by our Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten students at our assembly on November 3rd. Thank you in advance for your donation.

Halloween Festivities
This coming Monday the Citron Campus will be taken over by ghosts, ghouls, and princesses! Students will show off their costumes to family and friends during our annual Halloween Parade on the elementary yard. The parade starts at 9:00am.

Immediately following the 9:00 am costume parade, preschool classes will rotate through the Pumpkin Patch where they will play games, enjoy a snack, craft a Halloween magnet, and pick out a pumpkin to take home!
9:30-10:15am - PS
10:30-11:15am - PK
If your child does not usually attend school on Mondays, PLEASE know that you and your child are welcome to attend this event!

Elementary classroom celebrations will take place in the afternoon. We will have combined grade level parties. Please speak with your child's teacher or room parent to see if they need party supplies.
2:00-2:30pm - K
2:30-3:00pm - JK

We look forward to seeing everyone dressed up on Monday!

Tanaka Farms Petting ZooOn Wednesday, JK and K students visited Tanaka Farms "Pumpkin Patch" in Irvine. The children went on a guided wagon ride around the real working farm, saw over 40 animals at the Petting Zoo, got lost in a one acre corn maze, learned about different fruits and vegetables growing around the farm, and picked their own pumpkin off the vine.

Room C Squashes

Each preschool class has the opportunity to grow flowers, fruits, and vegetables in their own class garden. This is part of Fairmont's outdoor education component in the preschool curriculum. Room C started working on their garden this week. Students worked together to clean up the garden and get it ready for this year's crops. The students dug holes, pulled out plants, and raked. Afterwards, students harvested squash that was planted last spring. In the next few weeks students will plant peas.
