Dear friends,
We just completed our first year at the end of June and have so much to celebrate! -195 girls ran, hopped, skipped, jumped and cartwheeled across the finish line at the New Balance Girls on the Run 5k in May--all with smiling faces. -Our 51 coaches poured their positive energy into each lesson and inspired all of us to value each others' gifts and magic spirit. -Our sponsors and donors are so very important to the growth and expansion of GOTR--your generosity helped us offer scholarships to 46% of our girls. -Our Volunteers tirelessly stuffed race bags and coaches' boxes, ensured a smooth race day, handed out race bags at 6:30 a.m. for the Red Rose Run and were ready at any moment to offer their time and energy. -Our parents and guardians made it possible for our 195 girls to participate last Fall and Spring. -Our sites/schools partnered with us to provide open space to build strong bodies and open minds. -And, Our dedicated board members provided endless leadership and guidance as we reached our goals!
Please join Jennifer and me in a big energy cheer for every single person who has been involved in the girls' successes!
Now, our fall season is nearly upon us and we anticipate a supersonic year ahead, inspiring and motivating girls to reach their potential emotionally, mentally, socially and physically!
Thanks for being a friend of GOTR! Carrie Johnson Executive Director

Check out SoleMates..... our charity running component of Girls on the Run that raises funds for councils and also increases visibility and awareness of our mission. 80% of the total amount raised goes to us here in Lancaster and 20% goes to Girls on the Run International.
SoleMates agree to run/walk/bike a race of your choice of any distance and raise a minimum of $262 to support the Girls on the Run scholarship program (46% of our girls in the spring received financial assistance and we expect that number to grow).
Registration for Girls on the Run Solemates is $26.00. We support our runners/walkers/bikers every step of the way with exclusive runner gifts and a welcome packet, effortless on-line fundraising and online support and training plans.
In conjunction with Lancaster's very own Hands on Half on October 2nd we encourage you to take on the challenge of the half marathon or 5k and become a SoleMate for the first time to support our girls.

Testimonials: "Girls on the Run made me feel like a super sonic person!"
"What I learned at GOTR is that people don't deserve to be left out or bullied because of their individuality. Everyone is special in their own way and nobody wants to be stuck in the "girl box". Thanks Molly Barker, I now know how important it is to believe in myself!"
"Girls on the Run--Wow! It was a wonderful experience that introduced me to many amazing friends! But I must admit, it was not all fun and games. We all went through hours of running, sweat and exhaustion. But, it all led up to the awesome 5K! It was WAY fun!"
