Collect
19 Pentecost

Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

"The Son ... is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being" Hebrews 1:3
Dearly Beloved in Christ,

I want to share again this wonderful reflection on Hebrews 1:3 by Henry Gariepy in his book 100 Portraits of Christ.

"He made the Sea of Galilee as well as hushed it.  He could restore the blind man's sight, for He first made the optic nerve and retina.  He could give hearing to the deaf man, for He first set the drum in the ear.  He could cure the withered arm, for He made the bone and strung the muscle.  The Christ who walked the dusty roads of Galilee was the God who roamed through the paths of galaxies.  The Christ who lit the lakeside fire on which to cook breakfast for His tired, hungry disciples, had lit a billion stars and hung them across the midnight sky.  He who asked the outcast for a drink had filled with water every river, lake, and ocean.  Christ became God's self-disclosure.  In Jesus, God entered humanity, eternity invaded time."

And this same Christ is not ashamed to call us His brothers and sisters, and invites us to be co-heirs with Him of all that He created - such is the amazing love and generosity of our God!

In the Peace, Grace, and Love of our Lord,

Rev'd Sarah+

A HUGE "THANK YOU!"
To all the wonderful saints who worked so hard over the last three weeks to get everything ready for the Rummage Sale, to everyone who helped with the Rummage Sale, Free Parking, or Free Water over the last couple of days, and to those who came out to buy, and those who will be back out this week packing up!
There are a couple of IOUs still out and some expenses to be presented but it looks like we might have made over $9,000, and we have received a donation of $500.00.
Praise the Lord! We are thankful not only for the financial provision but also for the wonderful fellowship that we had and the hospitality shown to the guests on our campus - at least one of whom returned on Sunday morning to worship with us.

  Blessing of the Animals:
Mailman Mayhem and Holy Water Hounds
All the cats and dogs were beautifully behaved as we sang "All Creatures Great and Small." And then all the dogs of a voice broke into frenetic barking.  A glance in the direction of the canine focus revealed the culprit ... The mailman had set foot on the campus!  With his retreat peace returned.  It just took me a while longer to regain my composure .... no, those are not tears of sadness ... Then there were a couple of hounds who thought the mere sprinkling of holy water insufficient to the task and decided a couple of gulps straight from the bucket might do the trick!

I am the Good Shepherd.  The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep ... I am the Good Shepherd.  I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
