Collect
 Last Epiphany

O God, who before the passion of your only-begotten Son revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us that we, beholding by faith the light of his countenance, may be strengthened to bear our cross, and be changed into his likeness from glory to glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

"Our God will come, and will not keep silent ......'Gather before me my loyal followers, those who have made a covenant with me
and sealed it with sacrifice.'" Psalm 50:3, 5
Dearly Beloved in Christ,

We have received such a wonderful gift this weekend through the ministry of Pastor Sharon Lewis and her teams.  It feels like Pentecost has come a couple of months early to Good Shepherd with a powerful movement of the Holy Spirit among his people: "For it is the God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." 2 Corinthians 4:6.

On Sunday morning Pastor Sharon led us on a journey with Elijah and Elisha: from Bethel to Jericho to crossing over the Jordan.  Beth-el, which means the House of God, is who we are through Baptism and inviting Jesus to be our Lord and Savior.  We become the dwelling place of God.  But on this journey of our own transfiguration, of our own transformation into the fullness of Christ, we must also pass by Jericho.  Just as those walls came tumbling down only through the power of God, our own walls of anger, unforgiveness, shame, guilt, deep hurts, betrayal, can only be brought down through the inner healing that Jesus alone brings.  And as we allow God to pull down those walls brick by brick we can approach the Jordan, crossing over to the Promised Land where we will find that we have been changed from glory into glory.

May we be willing to walk this journey of transformation trusting in the God who heals us through his love.

In the Peace, Grace, and Love of our Lord,

Rev'd Sarah+

Bible Study Basics
Sunday Morning Lenten Series for Adults
February 26 - April 1 / 9:30am - 10:15am
What are the different Bible translations?  Which is the best one for you?  What are some basic study tools?  How do we use the different study tools?  Should we approach the study of the New Testament letters differently than we approach the study of the Psalms, or the Old Testament historical narratives?  How do we both study the Bible and read it devotionally?
We will explore these and any other questions you might have during the Sunday morning Adult Christian Formation time during Lent
