Christ the King

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well¯beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Revealing Christ's Love

Caring for the sheep.  Searching for the lost.

Thus says the Lord God: I myself will search for my sheep ... I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep ... I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep
Ezekiel 34:11, 15, 20

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

We are a community called by the name of the One who keeps his promises - who himself searches for his sheep, who himself shepherds his sheep, and who himself will judge.  As Woody shared in his sermon on Sunday we are to be mirrors of the one true Shepherd.  We are to search for his sheep in his name, and we are to care for his sheep also in his name, but we are to leave judgment to him alone.

As our Lord prepares his disciples for his imminent physical departure he likewise prepares them for his eventual physical return.  In the between times they, and we as their successors, are not to become complacent, but are to remain vigilant (Matthew 25:1-13).  In the between times we are to bring increase to his kingdom by using our gifts and talents appropriately (Matthew 25:14-30).  In the between times we are to care for his sheep by "seeking and serving Christ in all persons" (Matthew 25:31-40 and BCP 305).

May we, who are called by His Name, show forth his very nature by our deeds, so that at the end of the between times, on the day of judgment we may hear:  "Truly, I tell you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." (Matthew 25:40)

In the Peace, Grace, and Love of our Lord,

Rev'd Sarah+

We had the very great blessing of having Dr. Garwood (Woody) Anderson, (Associate Professor of New Testament and Greek and
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Nashotah House Theological Seminary) as our guest preacher at our Sunday morning services.  If you were not present to be fed by his sermon I exhort you to listen to it here.

The Reverend Gregory O. Brewer
Elected Fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Central Florida
Under a covering of much prayer, and in only four ballots, The Reverend Gregory Brewer was elected Fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Central Florida.  We rejoice in God's calling of his servant.  We continue to lift both he and his wife in prayer as they make this transition.  We lift up also Bishop Howe and his wife Karen as they continue with their own transition into a different call.  And we continue to lift up all those who were willing to be vulnerable enough to participate as candidates in this process - that the Lord would renew their strength and give them new vigor and vision for the ministries he has called them back to.

Christmas Gifts for Homeless Teens
This year we hope to provide gifts for the homeless teens of Covenant House through our annual Christmas gift outreach ministry.
Please see below for needed items - and thank you as always for your generosity in caring for those in need.

Wednesday Evenings during Advent

Instead of it being a contemplative season during which we  ready ourselves for the coming of the Prince of Peace Advent oftentimes becomes one of the most harried and stress-filled seasons of the year.

Join us in the Chapel each Wednesday in Advent as we quiet our hearts by spending time in silent prayer; singing the meditative songs of Taize; and hearing the voice of the Lord in his Holy Word.
