| Collect Trinity Sunday | | Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Dearly Beloved in Christ,
It has been said that to try and explain the Trinity is to attempt to pour the ocean into a seashell. We are, thankfully, left with the mystery that we worship One God in Unity of Being and in Trinity of Persons, not three gods, and not one god who morphs into different functions, but One God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. A perfect, and self-sufficient communion of love.
God had no need to create an object for his love for within this one God there is "a never ending communion of Lover, Beloved, and Enrapturer."* And yet he chose to create. Having first created a beautiful place for us to live, he created us, in his image, "in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." (Gen. 1:27) Why? Out of Love and for Love. We are freely loved-into-existence beings. We exist because God delights and chooses that we should.*
The God of the universe created you - uniquely. He loves you, uniquely. He delights in you! And when you and I were ripped from his loving presence by sin he himself came to our rescue - all three persons of our triune God were involved in the rescue mission. And having provided the path back into his loving presence by sacrificing himself on our behalf he never ceases to follow after us until we accept his loving sacrifice and he can bring us home rejoicing.
Will you accept that you are that deeply loved? If you do he asks you to "pay it forward" - to share that love with others, to introduce to this One God in Trinity of Persons those who do not know of this love, so that they too may be included into the ongoing conversation of love between Lover, Beloved, and Enrapturer.
In His Peace, Grace, and Love, Rev'd Sarah+
