Transportation in Action
The Silver Drive project is on schedule to be completed, weather permitting, on October 28. The new road intersects West Silver Lake Road at Franke Road and connects to the Grand Traverse Commons. The project includes a recreational trail on the west side of the new road. Look for the 'In Support of the Grand Vision' sign, courtesy of TC TALUS, when as you drive down the meandering boulevard.
"The project is an excellent example of many community partners coming together to complete a very important project that will affect many different organizations," said Matt Skeels, director of TC TALUS. "The funding of this project is another example of the diverse partners involved in the project," Skeels added. "My hat is off to the City of Traverse City, Garfield Charter Township, the city and township's joint Recreation Authority, and the Michigan Department of Transportation for making this project happen." |
