Greetings! |
Since it is summertime here in the US you do not expect to catch the common cold. But in spite of very high temperatures and humidity here in Atlanta, everyone in our home including some guests has had a cold. When I asked how we could have colds in the summer, I was told that people in the US have traveled where it is not summer and brought a cold back with them. They were in an environment conducive to having a cold and were able to spread it to an environment that was not conducive to having one. The cold might have come from one single person but it has spread to many thousands of people, even in the summer when colds are not common. I could not help but see the similarities to Network of Caring. From Jim and Nancy Dornan's original vision of generosity in that small African village to now multiple thousands of people giving across the globe. Network of Caring is becoming viral in the best sense of the word, even in places in the world where the economic environment is not conducive to generosity. Network 21 IBOs are catching the fever of significance and joining the Network of Caring team! Part of what is catching with Network of Caring is the 21 Club. When you donate $21 a day, a week, or a month (based on your ability) to Network of Caring you are are in the 21 Club and can receive the 21 Pin shown below. Just click on the link below (just above the 21 Pin picture) and you will be directed to the NOC donations page. And for more exciting news about NOC, read some amazing stories below of people around the world responding to the needs of others. And like a cold is spread by casual contact let's keep spreading the news of Network of Caring to others. But unlike a cold, the work of Network of Caring is not a sickness...its the cure! -R.D. Network TwentyOne Asia-Pacific Region Joins the Team |
Asia-Pacific IBOs Give Generously |
The mission of Network of Caring was presented for the first time to Network TwentyOne's Asia-Pacific region In July and the response was outstanding! The Go Diamond business conference was held in the beautiful seaside resort town of Pattaya with 1000s of IBOs from 11 different countries. And now we are very proud to announce that the Asia-Pacific region has enthusiastically joined the international NOC team.
Not only were the IBOs generous in their financial support, they were also excited about the present and future work of Network of Caring in that part of the world. There were several discussions with NOC director, R.D. Saunders about planning future projects and raising additional resources in each country of the region.
And because of Asia-Pacific's generosity and that of Jim and Nancy Dornan, Network of Caring was able to underwrite all the expenses for a year for an orphanage in Northern Thailand! Therefore, the organization responsible for this work and several other Asia-Pacific orphanages will now have more resources for the rest of the children under their care around the world.
Congratulations to all the leaders and IBOs in Asia-Pacific and welcome to the team! |

South African IBOs Respond in a Big Way |
Network 21 South Africa recently had an amazing weekend seminar. As Network of Caring is growing around the world, more and more IBOs are excited about doing big things for those in need. In July an anonymous IBO pledged to give 150,000 Rand to NOC (nearly $20,000 USD) if the other IBOs would match it during the WES. After initially thinking it would be too difficult to reach that level, the IBOs responded and South Africa raised the entire amount, nearly $40,000 USD!
It is amazing what can happen when everyone does their part. The South Africans will now be able to fund another wheelchair distribution for 550 of their countrymen with our partners from Free Wheelchair Mission. Thank you, South Africa for stepping up and making a difference in the lives of so many people!

NOC Australia Continues to Grow | Those who have been around Network 21 for a while will not be surprised to hear that NOC Australia is truly thriving. Our IBOs there have responded beautifully to presentations at their recent WES and several worthy projects received funding from NOC Australia. One organization receiving NOC support is Youth Insearch of Australia. Dedicated to rescuing troubled teens and helping them change their lives and futures YIS is a model program in Australia. Read the story below of Heath, a YIS grad.

NOC Australia is also helping the disabled community through its support of Camp Breakaway in San Remo, New South Wales. Camp Breakaway is simply a camp for disabled people of all ages. There are very few places where someone with disability could participate in a talent show, ride a zip line, or experience the thrill of a motorcycle ride. But at Camp Breakaway they can do that and so much more. Additionally, CB gives new energy and training to the parents and care givers of those with disabilities. Watch this video about Camp Breakaway: Camp Breakaway Video. |
Canadian IBOs Find a Creative and Healthy Way to Give to NOC | Several IBOs from Canada, led by Pat MacDonald from Jake and Helene Funk's group, found a creative way to support NOC and get fit at the same time... they participated in a triathlon. A triathlon combines a swim, a bike ride, and a run. While training for the event, the IBOs contacted friends, family, and co-workers and announced they were going to be running for those who could not run and were looking for sponsors. They also said that all proceeds would go to Network of Caring's sponsorship of Free Wheelchair Mission. The response was overwhelming as those participating in the triathlon raised more than $22,000 for free wheelchairs. That donation will give 371 people a wheelchair and change their lives. And maybe as many as 1000-1500 other people will benefit also from the 371 who now have mobility. What a wonderful gift! Congratulations to Pat and everyone on his team...well done! |
The Fernando Foundation Extends Reach with Kick It Shop |
For years the Fernando Foundation has labored to find affordable power soccer equipment for the many disabled athletes being introduced to the sport of power soccer. And with those players already encumbered with healthcare and transportation expenses, equipment was often too expensive when it could be found. That is why the Fernando Foundation is proud to introduce, The Kick It Shop.com! The Fernando Foundation started the Kick It Shop to be a one stop shop for everything a player or a team might need to play the sport of power soccer. Fernando Foundation director, Dave Ruelas says, "Never before has such a wide array of power soccer products been available for such a low price." And the demand is just not in the US--orders have been coming to the Kick It Shop from Malaysia, Australia, and Eastern Europe, as well. For more information about the Kick It Shop go to www.kickitshop.com. |
More From the Orphanage in Thailand |
In July Network of Caring took on the support of an orphanage in northern Thailand near the border with Myanmar (Burma). 31 children, several of whom were orphaned in the Myanmar genocide, call the Chiang Dao orphanage home. Because of the support of Network TwentyOne IBOs they will receive 3 meals a day, an education, and the comfort of care givers who love the children like their own. Network of Caring has underwritten the budget for the entire year for this orphanage. To see more from Thailand click on this link to the video on the Network of Caring Facebook page: orphanage.

Aren't we blessed to be a part of an organization like Network of Caring? With so many great things happening, I want to challenge you to consider a generous gift to NOC. We still need to respond to the crisis of human trafficking, the needs of disabled athletes, and the struggles of children in orphanages in China, India, and Thailand. Please join the Network of Caring team!
God Bless,
