Greetings!

Wow, what a year!  April 1 will mark one year since I became the Chief Significance Officer of Network of Caring.  I only say that because I am reflecting on this past year much like we all do at the end of the calendar year.  Now I am a communicator but to explain the amazing world I have entered this past year is a challenge.  But there are 4 things I know after a year.

1. Jim and Nancy Dornan are two of the most exceptional people on the globe.

2. Network TwentyOne IBOs and staff are some of the finest people I have ever known.

3. To say that Network TwentyOne simply supports a "business opportunity" is unquestionably to undersell it.  Network TwentyOne is a life transformation program that also helps Independent Business Owners in building their Amway businesses!

4. Network of Caring is positioned to do more for others than we can imagine.

So since it is the end of my first year I have some "new year's" resolutions for Network of Caring.

1. I want to add value to the lives and businesses of our IBOs in a more tangible way.

2. I want to find ways to raise more resources than ever before because more resources means more changed lives.

3. I want to connect NOC to the hearts of every one of our IBOs at every level of generosity.

4. I want every region of N21 to feel as though they have a NOC program relevant to them and their region.

So that is my focus as I carry out the on-going program of NOC.  I am excited about the future and look forward to seeing you soon and adding value to your life in any way I can.

Network 21 IBOs Respond to Haiti Earthquake

A Desolate Street in Port-Au-Prince
earthquake2
Moments after the devastating earthquake, Network of Caring's partner in Haiti, Global Outreach International (GO), was on the ground making a difference.  In their facility (where a John Maxwell leadership conference had recently been held) a makeshift hospital was opened for the injuries that seemed to be everywhere.  In a few days medicines, food, and water purchased by Network TwentyOne IBO's (through Network of Caring) began pouring in to that hospital where now thousands of Haitians have been helped.

In January, North American IBOs at Network TwentyOne's Winter Conference raised $6500 for Haiti which was later matched by Network of Caring Founders, Jim and Nancy Dornan for a total donation to GO and the people of Haiti of $13,000 USD.  Like NOC, GO gives 100% of the donation to the need.

Additionally, a container of 550 free wheelchairs purchased by Network TwentyOne IBOs through NOC is set to be distributed in Haiti in May by our partners, Free Wheelchair Mission.  With the kind of injuries sustained in an earthquake, free wheelchairs are critical for the recovery and future of the Haitian people.

Network of Caring Launches the 21 Strategy

21 strategy2
Network of Caring's 21 STRATEGY is a funding program for everyone interested in supporting Network of Caring. Most everyone in the Network 21 world wants to give to Network of Caring, but not everyone has the same resources to do so.  The 21 Strategy gives everyone the opportunity to contribute in a way that matches their ability to give.  The plan is simple---just think $21...a year, a month, a week, or a day!  The 21 strategy is powerful because it demonstrates what we could do for those in need around the world if everyone gave at their income level.  For instance:

If just 5000 people gave $21 a year that would be:  $105,000
If just 1000 people gave $21 a month ($252) that would be:  $252,000
If just 200 people gave $21 a week ($1092) that would be:  $218,400
If just 40 people gave $21 a day ($7665) that would be:  $306,600
If just 8 people gave $21,000 a year that would be:  $168,000

Therefore, if a total 6248 people gave what they could a year we could raise $1,050,000 annually so Network of Caring can house and feed orphans, help the disabled, and rescue those enduring disasters!

Network of Caring European Launch
The needs of people in some areas of Europe are as critical as most any place in the world.  But thanks to the support of many people across the globe, Network of Caring is going to be there to meet as many of those needs as possible!  In January
R.D. Saunders, Hans & Eva Nusshold, Adam Livingston
Hans and Eva
CSO, R.D. Saunders and Network TwentyOne COO, Adam Livingston visited with Crown Ambassadors, Hans and Eva Nusshold at the Network TwentyOne office in Vienna, Austria.  The Nussholds were wonderfully supportive and from this meeting an exciting plan for the future work of Network of Caring in Europe was developed.  Network of Caring's partnership with outstanding leaders in Network TwentyOne like the Nussholds is critical for the accomplishment of NOC's mission around the world.

R.D. Saunders traveled on to Kiev where another meaningful connection was made with key leaders from Network TwentyOne Ukraine, Founders Crown Ambassadors, Aleksey Mautanov and Vera Archipova and Crown Ambassadors, Taras and Irina Demkura.  These leaders as well as Crowns, Ihor and Valeriya Kharatin, were part of the team that distributed 550 wheelchairs in Ukraine in December.  They are passionate about positioning NOC to help children and the disabled in their country.  After this momentous meeting R.D shared the vision of NOC for the first time at a Network TwentyOne WES in Ukraine.

Europe is a little more complex than some places where NOC is working in the world.   But with the quality Network TwentyOne leaders in that part of the world, the mission of Network of Caring to meet the most basic needs of people is going to be accomplished in Europe.  In 2010 the NOC office in America will be working with these leaders and Network TwentyOne European staff to implement the plan.

To support the work of Network of Caring in Europe go to Support NOC In Europe.  Be sure to put "Europe" in the comments box.  Thank you for supporting Network of Caring in Europe.
Fernando Foundation Has a Great March
Power Soccer Athletes and N21 Volunteers at the Baker of the Day Fundraiser
bakeroftheday2

Thanks to the good people of Great Harvest Bread Company, Duluth GA and the generosity of Network TwentyOne IBOs and staff in the US, the Fernando Foundation was able to raise $3200 at the Great Harvest "Baker of the Day" fundraiser.  Raising these funds became important when the FF's two local teams finished first and second in the United States Power Soccer SE Regional Tournament March 5-6.  Proceeds from the Great Harvest fundraiser will pay the registration fees for both teams and cover some of the travel expenses.  Thank you for supporting power soccer and the Fernando Foundation!

Vision Report Card

reportThis past January  at Network TwentyOne's North America Winter Conference, Network of Caring's bold vision for 2010 was presented.  After the first quarter of the year the vision is becoming a reality.

Wheelchairs- 4 Containers, 2200 wheelchairs, at a cost of $130,000 USD.

One container is on its way to Haiti for a May distribution with two more containers pending in Ukraine and Outer Mongolia, respectively.  Your continued generosity is critical to accomplishing this goal.  To donate, go to Wheelchairs and type, "free wheelchairs" in the comments box.

Karuna- Sponsor all orphans for a year in our Karuna Orphans Home, Mumbai, India--$85,000 USD.

We are grateful for those who already sponsor one of our children in India for $35 USD a month.  But there are so many more and if every donor would sponsor one child, we can easily reach this goal.  Would you consider sponsoring a child or adding one more child to your Karuna family?  You can do so at: Sponsor a Child.

Fernando Foundation- Fund projects for the disabled in the US and around the world--$40,000 USD.

Through the generosity of those who gave in memory of "Gramma," (our founder, Nancy Dornan's mother) as well as the Baker of the Day fundraiser we are about one fourth of the way to our goal.  But a door has opened recently to take Power Soccer outside the US to the disabled around the world.  More than ever we need your help to bring the joy, camaraderie, and sense of purpose disabled sports can give to the neediest people of the world.  To give to the Fernando Foundation go to: International Power Soccer.

Human Trafficking- Fund the rescue of young women--$20,000 USD.

The sadness of human trafficking is affecting every part of the world.  But Network of Caring is partnering with organizations on the front line of this battle.  Your help to meet this need will make a life changing difference in a young girl's life.  To give to this need go to, Rescue and in the Comments box type, "human trafficking."

Natural Disasters- Aid for Worldwide Natural Disasters--$20,000 USD.

With the donations from the North American Winter Conference, $13,000 has been given to the Haitian Earthquake crisis.  We are in good shape at this point with our natural disasters vision but you can still donate at, Disasters.  Make sure to type "natural disasters" in the comments box.

Deaf School in China- Hearing aids, Equipment, and Coal--$15,000 USD.

Disabled children in some parts of the world face many challenges, but our school in Kaifeng China means these children have hope.  With your donation, Network of Caring will heat the school for the upcoming year and purchase needed equipment and hearing aids.  Go to Deaf Children, and type "China" in the comments box.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your generosity!
Looking down the road, we are planning for an exciting year in 2010.  I will make the first presentation of Network of Caring in Bangkok Thailand this month.  I will visit Haiti in May for our wheelchair distribution.  Two of our power soccer teams will compete in the US Nationals in June.  Our North American Leadership conference will be here in Atlanta in September.  I plan to be in Budapest, Hungary in late September and Sydney Australia in late October.  We hope to have a Network of Caring established in various places around the world by the end of the year.

I am unusally blessed to serve Jim and Nancy Dornan and each of you.  Thank you so much for your support of this work!

Sincerely,

R.D. Saunders
