SOS News for February, 2012

The Ocean is Your Valentine
The ocean will always be there for you - to comfort you, ease your worries, and give you countless moments of joy. It wont forget your anniversary, push your buttons, or leave dirty clothes all over the floor.
Isn't it time you shouted "I love you, Ocean!" from the rooftops?
Share your love for the ocean OR the one you love:
- Send an Ocean Valentine to someone you love as a Tribute Gift. Give them a gift that matters to them, as well as their ocean, and we'll send them an Ocean Valentine in the mail.
Last Call to Join the New Class of Sanctuary Stewards!
Act now - the Sanctuary Steward course starts soon on Tuesday, February 21st! Don't miss your chance to protect marine life around Monterey Bay AND become a leader in your community. Did we mention being a Steward is also tons of fun?

Stop Bottom Trawling - the Bulldozing of our Oceans

Bottom trawling fishing is when huge nets scrape the seafloor, just a like a bulldozer, literally destroying everything in their path. This is especially bad for corals, and the fish, seals, and even sea lions that rely on coral to stay alive.
Imagine a bulldozer scraping through your neighborhood, demolishing everything you see.
