Stories from the North Pacific Gyre with Algalita Marine Research Foundation

Join Dr. Marcus Erickson and Anna Cummins of Algalita as they visit Santa Cruz on their "Junk Ride" bike tour from Canada to Mexico in an effort to raise awareness of the issue of marine debris in the North Pacific Gyre. 
Sunday June 7th from 3 to 5 pm at the Cypress Lounge.

Aquatic Invasive Species Workshop

We are teaming up with the California Coastal Commission and the Department of Boating and Waterways to hold this great workshop for Central Coast boaters.
The workshop is on May 6th from 8:45am-2:45pm at the Moss Landing Harbor Office, click here for the full flyer.  Please register by May 4th.

Keepers of the Deep: Marine Debris Short at the Santa Cruz Film Festival

Santa Cruz’s own NOAA Fisheries have been surveying fish and habitats off the California coast for the past 15 years, making direct observations from the manned submersible Delta. These researchers are now quantifying the types and locations of marine debris that are found during these surveys. Join SOS as we learn just what's lying on the ocean floor in our own Monterey Bay.
