Celebrate DeKalb's Farm-to-School Day January 19th
A big thank you to students, staff, and parents that participated in the December Farm to School Day! Almost all students were recognized for eating the broccoli!
The Nutrition and Wellness Committee will promote this month's DeKalb Farm to School Day on Thursday, January 19th and the item will once again be locally grown broccoli (unfortunately, the zucchini originally advertised was unavailable). Committee members will be in the cafeteria encouraging kids to try broccoli. They will also provide interesting facts about the item during the morning announcements the week before. If your students buys lunch that day, please encourage them to try broccoli. If they bring lunch from home, you can pack broccoli or send 75 cents with them to purchase it as an a la carte item.
Pictures of the last two monthly events have been posted on the bulletin board in the main hallway outside of Mrs. Neely's office. Additional pictures are posted periodically on the Clubs & Committees section of the PTA website. If you have additional questions or would like to volunteer to help with the monthly event please contact Margaret West at mrh0@cdc.gov
