Traffic Alert from DeKalb County Police Department
We have received several warnings from DeKalb County Police regarding the traffic and parking violations in the surrounding areas of Oak Grove Elementary. Last week, at least four Oak Grove stakeholders were ticketed for speeding on Fair Oaks Rd and Crestline Dr. Please keep the following in mind as you come and go at Oak Grove Elementary.
Do not turn left into the school from 7:15am-8:15am and 1:45-2:45pm. Do not make U-turns on Oak Grove Rd. Do not park facing the wrong direction in front of the school. Do not park in a no-parking zone. Do not park on both sides of the street on any street. Do not pass on the right cars waiting to turn left from Oak Grove Rd. to Fair Oaks Rd. Follow all speed limits and especially the lower speed limits when the school zone lights are flashing. Follow the directions of the crossing guards. Be on the lookout for walkers and bike-riders.
The officer who visited our front office today said he would be ticketing in this area frequently. Please be safe, follow all traffic laws, and avoid a ticket.
