You are cordially invited to attend our annual New Parent Coffee.
Please join us Monday, August 8, in the Oak Grove Elementary Cafeteria at 8:00AM for refreshments and fellowship. We want to take this opportunity to personally welcome each of you to the Oak Grove Elementary Community. Our principal, Dr. Laura Neely, and the 2011-2012 PTA Board Members will serve as your hosts and will be on hand to answer questions, ease any anxieties and share ways to get involved. Open House & Registration | | | Wednesday, August 3, 8:30AM - 12:00PM
The 2011-2012 school year is just around the corner. Don't miss your opportunity to visit the classrooms and meet your
teacher(s) before the first day of school.
What Do I Need to Bring?
Proof of Residency is required. Acceptable forms are:
- Current utility bill - power, gas, and water bills
(Phone and cable bills are not acceptable) - Contract on new home
Form of Payment: Check, Cash or Credit Card to join the PTA, pay classroom fees, purchase spirit wear and agendas. Please remember - students in grades 2-5 are required to purchase agendas. NOTE: American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA are accepted. If you pay using a credit card, a $2.00 convenience fee will be added to your total. This amount will cover the merchant fees that Oak Grove is charges for credit card transactions.
Other Important Items: A copy of any updated immunizations, emergency contact information (including phone numbers) and your calendar.
Willingness to Serve: Join a PTA committee and sign up to volunteer in the classrooms.
If you have a child new to Oak Grove, please bring all of the items above, plus:
- Copy of Immunization Form 3231
- Copy of Hearing/Vision/Dental Screening
- Copy of birth certificate
- Copy of Social Security card
- Copies of previous school records, test records

Safe Routes to School Meeting | | Wednesday, August 10, 7:30AM
Safe Routes to School committee will meet on August 10th at 7:30AM in the library conference room.
Have you wanted to walk more?
Improve the Community? Make it more pedestrian and bicycle friendly?
Please join the Safe Routes committee (SRTS) for a planning meeting. New members are welcome. There will be homemade muffins available.

For the active and imaginative K-4th grader who loves the land of make-believe!
Have fun exploring acting, characters, costumes, improvisation, story-telling, puppetry, mythology, fairy tales and theater games. OAK GROVE KEYBOARD/PIANO CLUB is for K-5th graders who want to learn how to play the piano/keyboard. Explore the sounds and rhythms of the electric piano keyboard in our 12 week Suzuki-style program.
Fun activities include learning familiar songs on the keyboard, singing, percussion, keyboard improvisation,movement and rhythm games and an end-of-session recital. Meets on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
