CRCT Scores
CRCT score reports have arrived for students in third, fourth, and fifth grades.
To receive your child's report, please choose from one of the following options:
1) Pick up a copy at Oak Grove on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 8am to 10am
2) Receive a copy on Open House/Registration Day on August 3, 2011 from 8:30am-12:00pm.

Summer Registration
Do you know a family that has just moved into the Oak Grove area? Do you have friends who have children entering Oak Grove for the first time this fall? You can do two things to help us get these families involved at Oak Grove!
1) Forward them this email and ask them to sign up for the Oak Tree.
2) Let them know that summer registration for students new to Oak Grove takes place on....
June: Tue/Thu from 8-10am
July: Daily from 8-10am
August 3rd from 8:30-12:00 (meet the teacher) & 12:00-3:00 (late registration)

Facility Improvements
This May, PTA funded the installation of new AV equipment in our cafeteria. We now have a wonderful and functional sound system with new speakers, wireless microphones, a new sound system, a new projection screen, and a new, ceiling mounted LCD projector that is connected to cable/DVD/VCR. This project was funded by the Boosterthon Fun Run held in September, 2010. Thank you to everyone who participated last fall!
Right now, 24 classrooms are having a complete lighting replacement. As of June 3, all the existing lighting had been removed and the rewiring began. Rewiring will take two to three weeks. New lighting should be installed by the first week of July. The lighting replacement is a DeKalb County Schools funded project intended to improve lighting and reduce electricity costs. Thank you to Andy Morris and Beth Burgess who coordinated efforts to remove locally purchased Wii Smooth Board systems in order for the lighting installation to take place.
When the lighting project is finished, we will move forward with wireless access installation throughout the building. This will allow all school system wi-fi capable devices to access the network which opens the window for more mobile technology use in our building such as laptops and iPads. This project is the final phase of the AV project funded by the PTA.
