| First Weekly Walking Wednesday a Success! |
|
Safe Routes to School had an excellent first Weekly Walking Wednesday on the 19th with an estimated 189 walkers. There are thirteen more weeks to go! Frequent walking cards with ten punches will qualify for the raffle on November 18th to award the BIKE USA 20 inch custom BMX bicycle. We hope to see you again next Wednesday. Stay safe. |
| Lost and Found Procedure Changes |
|
Due to the large amount of unclaimed items in Lost and Found throughout the year, Ms. Burger and the PTA Board have approved the following policy change:
Lost and Found (L/F), located in the alcove leading to the courtyard across from the front office, will be cleaned out the 1st of each month. All items left in L/F without a last name will be donated. Items with last names clearly labeled will remain hanging.
It is the responsibility of students and parents to make a habit of checking the lost and found for personal items. Approximately 4 times a year, usually prior to long holiday periods, i.e. Thanksgiving, Winter Break, February Break, Spring Break and end of school year, all items left in L/F, will be removed and donated, including labeled items. These 'major' clean-outs will be advertised in the Oak Tree Newsletter in advance.
The first of the month donations will be routine and NOT announced. This policy change will hopefully help the school keep the area clean and clutter-free.

| Thanks to Cub Scout Pack 577! |
The Building and Grounds Committee would like to thank Cub Scout Pack 577 for their work on the grounds last Saturday. We had over 100 scouts, siblings, and parents pick up trash, pull weeds, trim and pull bushes, and much more. An amazing amount of work was accomplished in a few short hours.
We would like to give special recognition to David Bell (aka Chief Toothpaste), Reid Mallard, Dan Evans, John Burgess, and of course, Ms. Haase for directing and motivating the troops. Thank you everyone for all the hard work! |

Sincerely,
