Here in this place new light is streaming, now is the darkness vanished away;
see in this space our fears and our dreaming brought here to you in the light of this day. . .
Here in this place the new light is shining, now is the kingdom and now is the day.

Dear ,
As I'm writing to you this morning, the lovely sun is streaming in from the south east. Each day there is a bit more light and a bit less darkness. For me, this reality is an "epiphany moment," and "ah-ha" of recognizing that God is shining and at work each and every day.
Recognizing the light also includes recognizing the darkness. And so this morning, , I invite you to take a few moments to note the darkness in your life - perhaps the disappointments or difficulties, the hurts and needs for healing, the out-of-control things. . . whatever it may be. Perhaps even be so bold as to briefly write these down on a scrap of paper.
As we've been following Jesus through the first chapter of Mark, the people who are hurting are drawn to him. They come to him seeking help and healing. And Jesus reaches out to them and heals them. In your own way, I encourage you to bring your hurts to Jesus as well. There's no need to wait, no need for you to carry them alone any longer. Entrust them to Jesus, entrust yourself to our gracious God.
May you be touched in some way by the light of Jesus today!
In Peace and Joy,
Pastor Jeff
P.S. On Sunday mornings for GPS: Grow Pray Study we've been experiencing a live performance of Mark's gospel and seeing the gospel in new ways. Some participants have never done any adult Bible studies before, and others have studied for years. It's a group large enough to lurk if you'd like, and newcomers are always welcome - Sundays 9:40 in the chapel. I'd love to have you join in the learning! Note we'll take February 12th off to participate in the Open Forum. |

The Joint Commission will elect the Call Committee at the February meeting and they will begin their work in February.
