Dear CLS Family and Friends,
DON'T come into the office!! You might get drafted. We're redecorating/rearranging/ repainting and yes, regretting that we ever started this crazy project. Only teasing. Thanks for being patient while we beautify.
Thank you also to our barn helpers. You've never seen so much poop scooping and sawdust sweeping. Never
underestimate our kids' -- and adults' -- competitive spirits. See below for the Best Barn Helper of the Week award winner -- our first ever!
Enjoy the pictures to the right of the annual American Saddlebred Horse Association of the Carolinas banquet in Concord last weekend. CLS raked in scores of awards, and our youngsters were breathtaking in their fancy duds!
Looking forward to another great "springtime" week at the barn. Keep your fingers crossed that this weather lasts!
Parker
Pictures from the recent ASAC convention held in Concord, NC. Many CLS Academy Team Members and Show Horse Riders were honored and received certificates. Some of these riders also will be honored at the upcoming ASHA convention in Lexington, Kentucky. |

CLS Riders Bring Home A Slew of Awards What an adorable picture of our award-winning riders. What makes it even more special is the knowledge that this large group is only 1/4 of the CLS Team honored at the annual ASAC Convention. Keep up the amazing hard work guys, and 2012 will be just as great. No wait, it will be even greater!

XXXXOOOOs- Attention CLS Parents: Please help us. Each of our riders will receive an adorable packet of CLS Valentines from their instructors this week. These are cards for free horseback rides (worth $40 each) that they can put in Valentine's gifts for their friends, families and teachers.
Thanks so much for helping us spread the joy of horses in our community!
Also, don't forget that if you would like CLS to bring ponies to your child's school for a carnival or any kind of special visit, contact us as far in advance as possible. When we can, we love to come. And we do it for free!

How does it feel to change the world, Little Bits?
Thanks to you, our incredible barn families and hard working members of Lovell's Little Bits, this week, children in Ghana experienced running water in their school and orphanage for the first time. They ate meals cooked on their very own new cook stove. And they went to school in a room with a real ceiling and walls.
And that's ALL because of you. Little Bits Mom Medge Owen texted Parker this week from Ghana. Then she called, and the power and passion behind her voice left both of us crying.
Your hard work and donations are making a real difference in the world. When Medge returns next week, she will be armed with more stories and pictures -- and more project ideas for us. Be sure to attend Fun Friday on Feb. 10 for a full update. Bring your tissues. These pictures are so powerful and moving.
I couldn't be more proud. |
New Silo at CLS! Many women dream of diamonds and fancy cars. Ms. Parker dreams of silos. Horse girls are a crazy bunch, as you know. And now Ms Parker has her very own mini-silo!
And no, it's not filled with peppermints, althought that's a fine idea. It's filled with incredibly rich and tasty horse feed, specially formulated for the Cash Lovell school horses by our friends at Deal-Rite in Statesville, NC.
This is just one of the many changes and updates we're making at CLS in our quest to be the top -- the standard setting -- U.S. riding academy. |
School Horse Update
Sweet Max is now retired, and loving life with his adoptive mom Jane, who calls him "the sweetest horse in the world." Max and Jane went trail riding yesterday and apparently he was "wonderful!"
Max, Oreo, Sparky, Babe, Patrick and Monkey also all have found new, wonderful retirement homes. As sad as it is to see our friends go, we take great comfort in finding them wonderful, loving homes where they can relax and enjoy. |
Riders Out of School for President's Day? Book an Extra Lesson at the Barn (and join us for a day of barn fun!)

Who knows, they might even end up as Helper of the Week! To schedule a lesson, call (336) 784-6385 or email ride@cashlovellstables.com. Thanks!

Our Barn Helper of the Week is ...
Catlin Summey! Catlin is one of our newest riders, and he's such a hard-working, kind young man.
Catlin spends nearly every Sunday at the barn all day, doing every job with enthusiasm. From scooping poop and scraping mud off horses' legs, to sweeping the tack room and filling water buckets, Catlin works with a smile. Working as a team Catlin, and newest barn helper Ms. Tammy, had the CLS Tack Room floor sparkling it was so clean last Sunday.
Thank you Catlin. And thank you to all of our barn helpers. Remember, Ms. Parker is watching, and taking pictures. So keep up the great team work!
