Calling all Gardeners, Volunteers and Green Thumbs!
9:00-11:00 am Saturday, November 19 Tree and Flower Planting Morning! Tomorrow morning we'll be planting 10 new crepe myrtle trees along the driveway at CLS and we're looking for some helpers! Also, if you have any day lilies you are splitting right now -- we would love to have them. We'd also welcome tulip bulbs and pansies. Please meet at the barn at 9:00 am if you have time to help plant! Thanks!

"Give a Kid a Coat" donations are due this Saturday - thank you!
If you're cleaning out your closet today please bring any too tight, too small coats right on over to the barn. Today and tomorrow we'll be collecting winter coats to donate to the Give A Kid A Coat Campaign. This local program is sponsored by A Cleaner World, WGHP/Fox 8, 1075KZL, and The Salvation Army. We'll deliver all the coats to a Cleaner World where they'll be repaired, dry cleaned and distributed to local children whose families are not able to afford a warm winter jacket this holiday season. For more information about this terrific program, click here. |
Don't forget: Festival of Trees is This Saturday and Sunday
Saturday, November 19, 9am to 6pm
Sunday, November 20, Noon to 5pm Held in the Education Building on the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds Support Brenner Children's Hospital this weekend by checking out the Festival of Trees! It's magical and it will certainly get you in the holiday spirit.
Again we thank our Barn Moms, led by Emily Semans, for all the work they have put into the making a gorgeous tree for our barn! Thank you! |
Dear Barn Families and Friends,
A few things for which I am thankful . . .
- Quiet late nights at the barn when the horse's are snoozing, the moon is shining, and the promise of tomorrow lays sleepily in the
air. - My dirty, stinky barn babies covered in, well, you know, playing yet another round of horse show in the bullring out back.
- Lucy's warm little tush snuggled into my belly, and the rumble of her soft little snores.
- Piper's indignant snort when I walk past his stall without giving him a peppermint.
- Cashlyn's puffy, warm cheeks when I kiss her sweetness while she sleeps.
These, and so many other little happenings in my day, make me smile. My best friend Lauren sent me a bracelet a long time ago. I wear it every day. On it is this inscription: "Life is a journey, not a destination."
My journey leads me through the lives of so many wonderful people and animals. And no matter the chaos, or disappointments along the way, there is so much for which I'm thankful. And the older I get, the more I realize that my journey is awesome no matter where it leads me.
Take care. God bless. Hug your babies -- and mine!

Three Important Things About our New Scheduling System
1. We've now sent out an email to every single one of our riders. If you haven't received one, that means we need to update your email address in our computer. Please check in with Jeanne in the office -- thanks so much! 2. If you've been paying by draft we need to get a debit card number for our new system. Please stop in the office and we'll get you fixed up. 3. You can now cancel lessons easily through our rider log-in page. For example, if you know you're heading out of town for Thanksgiving and will have to miss a lesson, now you can just log-in with your username and password, find the appointment you need to cancel and you're done. Need help? Email ellenbassett@me.com. Thanks! |
