Dear CLS Friends,
 |
Then six-year-old Cashlyn Lovell showing "Vegas" -- CH Aces & Eights. |
Coyote just called me into a stall. I listened as this man, who masterfully grooms and cares for horses every day, bowed his head and prayed to God. He gave thanks for healing Vegas, my favorite show horse of all time. Vegas is 23 years old this year. And three months ago, he was so sick that he couldn't stand.
With Coyote's round-the-clock care, and the prayers from this barn and prayers from Vegas's fans around the country, this amazing horse has made a full recovery. As we prayed together - Vegas between us nibbling carrots -- I was reminded once again of the amazing way God works through animals to help people. Through nursing Vegas and willing him to live, Coyote and I have both found strength and inspiration - and a closer connection to God.
The outside of a horse is so good for the inside of a man.
You will see this when you visit us next weekend for the Annual Little Bits Charity Fall Fun Show. There is something magical that happens when you mix old horses with young children, or the young at heart. God allows us to harness our inner power through a horse.
Please join us and see for yourself.

Thank you! You can use our sponsor form -- or do something creative on your own! Sign up now for the Fall Fun Show at the barn. Moms and Dads -- please help your child by downloading this Fun Show Packet and going over it with them. Thanks! |

Join Academy Team member Gracie Bargoil by donating money and walking to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes
October 22, 2011 at Wake Forest University For details and to donate,
Note from Gracie: "On March 23, 2010, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It has been a rollercoaster ride since. Every day I have to check my glucose level between 5 and 8 times. This involves pricking my fingers. It hurts, but it is necessary. Without doing this, my blood sugar levels can go way up which can lead to me getting very sick or they can go way down and I could potentially slip into a diabetic coma. I am now on an insulin pump that gives me insulin every hour. This is a lot better than getting a shot every time I eat something. Even though I have this disease, it does not stop me from doing the things I love best. I like to ride horses at Cash Lovell Stables and Riding Academy and I like to play softball. I do wish that they would come up with a cure. That is why I am walking for a cure. Please feel free to come walk with me on October 22, 2011 at Wake Forest University."
From Parker: Gracie, we are so proud of you and everyone, let's support Gracie by joining her Team and contributing to the JDRF. Thanks!
