Quotes of the Week

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

Dear CLS Friends,
As many of our friends know, we now have a Cash Lovell Stables bunny. A bunny I didn't want. A bunny I flatly did not condone. A bunny that entered my world rather abruptly on the morning of our Spring Fun Show in May. You can imagine how overjoyed I was when Cash and Cashlyn showed up with a baby bunny -- on the same day I was planning an event for 500 people.
It''s no news flash that I quickly fell in love with "Bun Bun." Those precious little paws. The way she nibbled celery and fresh -- oh yes, only fresh spinach from my fingers. The first time I saw her pitch a hissy fit and throw food out of her $100 penthouse suite cage, I literally guffawed. No, I thought. That bunny can't be pitching a hissy fit for attention. Darn tootin', she was.
In May, Cash paid $8 for Bun Bun. Her specially-grown, organically-processed foods cost more than that every week. Last week, I spent $157 during one visit to the vet. If Cash Lovell ever found out how much his $8 bunny has actually cost this family, he would die. Literally. He would fall out and die of shock.
Now more vet bills. You see, Bun Bun has been diagnosed with a rare but serious sinus infection caused by some strange allergy. Yesterday, she underwent sinus surgery. She's recovering nicely in the bunny hospital, with round the clock care. Not sure what this will cost exactly. But I might have to sell a kidney.
I tell you this only to confirm what has widely been suspected about me. I'm a total idiot. When it comes to animals and children, I can't be left to make rational decisions. But at least if you show up in a few weeks and the lights have been turned off on the barn for non payment, you'll rest a little easier knowing that Bun Bun is getting excellent care . . .
