Wow! Cash Lovell Stables was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Fund Raising by the American Saddlebred Horse Association. Over 30 barns from across the country were in contention and we are incredibly proud of this honor. Thanks to each and every one of you who helped make this possible by working hard all year long! |
Dear CLS Friends,
The last two weeks have been wild and crazy to say the least!
Little Bits Win Big Honor
At the recent ASHA Convention in Kentucky, 25 CLS riders earned national medals from the American Saddlebred Horse Association. Plus, Lovell's Little Bits, yet again, was honored as one of the top youth clubs in the country. We received special recognition for our club's fundraising for local charities in 2010 -- our youth club raised and donated a whopping $16,000! We were the only Saddlebred Youth Club in our entire region to be recognized by ASHA. Special thank you to each member of the CLS barn family whose hard work made this honor possible. And special thanks to LLB Mom Kim Stewart for compiling all of our work into the amazing CLS Annual Scrapbook. Click here to see it!
Winter Tournament
Over the weekend we had an incredible time at the Winter Tournament where over 30 new and seasoned CLS riders kicked off show season 2011 in winning style! Thank you to all the riders and families who made this an incredible day -- especially for Cash who had a surprise birthday celebration. For Winter Tournament results, see below.

New service projects for 2011
Onward folks! We have even more incredible community service work to do in 2011! Please note when you enter the arena that we are collecting canned food for Second Harvest Food Bank. Little Bits Collecting Canned Food for the Food Bank! Help feed hungry people by bringing in some cans of food!
Starting today until Saturday, March 12, CLS will be participating in a canned food drive with the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW North Carolina.
There are now three nice big boxes on your way into the arena -- you can't miss them!
CLS riders and families can bring in non-perishable foods from now until Fun Friday on March 11th. Canned vegetables, canned fruit, pasta, cereal, pop tarts, granola bars, baby food in plastic containers are all suggestions for donations. Nothing in glass containers, please. If you want to donate money instead, we've learned that $1 provides SEVEN MEALS, Jeanne will collect monetary donations in the CLS office.
The Food Bank serves 18 counties -- including Forsyth and Davie. Help over 400 local agencies, right here in Winston-Salem they provide food for Crisis Control and Samaritan Soup Kitchen.
On Saturday, March 12th at noon -- all Little Bits are invited to meet at the barn and caravan out to the facility to deliver the food and for a private tour so the children can see how their donations are actually used. |
CLS Riders Make Valentine's More Fun for Some Local Seniors
On Sunday, February 13 a group of CLS Riders visited seniors at Independence Village to complete the Valentine's Project started at February's Fun Friday. Seniors were treated to valentines, treat bags, homemade cookies and cupcakes with pink frosting! The seniors really seem to appreciate the goodies and our group. Great job! |
Emily Semans is Our First CLS Historian!
We have really needed to give our Barn Mom Emily Semans a title for a job that she has been doing for a very long time. So we are formally giving Emily a title: Emily Semans -- CLS Historian. What does the CLS Historian do? Well, Emily is incredible at remembering who won what and when. She researches all of the magazines that cover our sport. So for 2011, we welcome Emily's continued help as she keeps track of our riders' and horses' winning performances. Emily, thank you for all that you do for CLS!
Show Horse riders, take note: Emily is updating your website pages. Please email her any information/pictures you would like included on your page! Click her to email Ms. Emily. |
