Huge congratulations to longtime Lovell's Little Bit Jozy Unal, whose parents, Medge and John, surprised her at Christmas by leasing a show horse for her! In 2011, Jozy will be the proud rider of CH Aces & Eights (better known as Vegas!). They will show in the 10 & Under Walk and Trot Equitation classes at shows around the country. We are so tickled for you Jozy -- and even more tickled for Vegas to have such a loving, wonderful child to adore him!

Welcome back to all of our riders! We're on a regular schedule this week for all instructors. If you need to schedule make-up lessons from the holidays, please give Ms. Jeanne a ring at the barn. We want to remind everyone that our 24-hours cancellation policy is in effect this year, so please let the barn know if you can't make your scheduled lesson well in advance! They're low key, casual, real horse shows that are just perfect for beginner show riders, or advanced show riders who need some extra practice!

 Join us for a wild and fun weekend at the ASAC Annual Convention
January 21-23 in Charlotte
The American Saddlebred Association of the Carolinas is hosting its annual convention in Charlotte on January 21-23. All CLS Riders are welcome to attend. Show Riders and Academy Team Members are especially encouraged to sign up and head on over to Charlotte for this fun event.
Friday:
1 pm to 5 pm - Slide and slip at the Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark
7pm to 11pm - ASAC Youth, "A Night With the Stars" -- games, food, DJ,  dancing
Saturday:
10am - 11am: ASAC Youth Meeting and election of officers
11:30am - 5:00pm - Great Wolf Lodge
6:00pm- 7:00pm: Youth Reception and Academy Awards
7:00pm - 1:00am : Awards Banquet, Dinner and Dance

 Miss Kathryn heading for the sun and sand! Miss Sondra is heading to Argentina!
Kathryn and Sonya will both be taking vacation time in the next two weeks so all of their riders should take note here: Kathryn says: I will be away on vacation from Friday, January 14 through Saturday, January 22nd. My students have 2 options...#1. Change their lessons that week in order to reschedule with me. #2. Jaimie will be teaching for me that week which will allow you to keep your regular time. Please contact the barn if immediately if you would like to choose Option #1. Thanks!Sondra says:Jamie will be teaching my lessons for me the next two Saturdays. My Friday riders need to move to Saturday or sometime during the week if they have not already done so. Thanks a bunch! |
 The 2011 Academy Team is Now Forming - Join Us!
Our first horse shows of the year are coming up so it's time for all those who are interested in showing for the first time this year to speak up! If you're a barn mom who has been fiddling with the idea of showing -- please let Parker or your instructor know. These first shows are totally casual and they are provide a great opportunity for riders of all ages to get show experience (we also have a blast!).  Parker Speaking at the United Professional Horseman's Association Conference this Weekend in Boston, Mass
Parker will be a featured speaker this weekend at the UPHA conference in Boston with a discussion on "Marketing Your Barn and Academy  Program." Cash and Cashlyn will be joining her. Based in Lexington, Kentucky, the United Professional Horsemen's Association is an association of Professional Horsemen and Horsewomen who have united to improve the horse show industry and define and clarify their professionalism within the industry.
