Ho! Ho! Ho! CLS families-
I'm liable to fall out from excitement -- or exhaustion -- or both! But the Christmas Party is this weekend!!! And I don't know how it got here so fast! This party is our big gift to you, our wonderful barn family. So come one. Come all. And enjoy the foolish revelry!
9:00 ish -- Smells of biscuits and gravy begin to waft . . . 9:30 ish -- The ginormous inflatable jumpies are rockin' and rollin' . . . 10:00 ish -- The mechanical bull is snorting flames and making grown men cry . . . 10:30 ish -- Ms. Parker talks and blubbers. My New Year's Resolution is to turn off my emotional faucet! 10:45 ish -- Santa arrives to the chants of little children. 11:00 ish -- Break out the toilet paper, it's Mummy Making Time!

During this thoughtful time of year . . . I am so thankful for our barn family -- and all the little two- and four-legged creatures in it! I'm most proud of how our barn family, working as a team, is able to impact our community in such positive ways. The electronic scrapbook is almost finished. When we get it posted on the website, please take a look at all the good that YOU made happen in 2010.
And we're just beginning!

Important: Notes from Riding Instructors on Upcoming Lesson Changes
With the CLS Christmas Party, Christmas and New Year's coming up we will be having some modified lesson plans. Please check in with the barn and coordinate your schedules. Don't forget the 24-hour cancellation policy, please :) And when you come to the barn, please dress warmly!
Notes from Jeanine: I will be teaching Sunday, December 12 instead of Saturday, December 11 due to the party. I will teach lessons on Sunday, December 19 and and work an extended day on Thursday, December 23 to make up for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I will teach a regular schedule on New Year's Day and I will try to finish early on New Year's Eve by moving my later classes to an earlier time.
Notes from Kathryn: I will be having a regular lesson schedule until Thursday Dec. 23rd. I will teach til 4:30 pm. No lessons for me on Friday, December 24th. I will return on Monday, Dec. 27 to work at 2:00 pm.
Notes from Sandra: I will be teaching a regular schedule on Friday.
Notes from Jamie: I will be on a regular schedule.

 Riding in Cold Weather
The barn can get mighty cold. But choosing an outfit that's not bulky or restricting is very important. Layering with athletic materials can be very helpful. For example, layering a thermal turtleneck with a sweater and a fleece CLS vest allows your arms to be free for movement, yet your chest will stay warm. Warm socks are also important in cold boots. We often see young kids come in with just their bulky school coat. Then they shed the bulky coat on the bench -- where it usually stays long after they're gone! Using a layered approach will help you get the most out of your winter lessons.
And for those lessons right after school, find in the CLS Tack Shop adorable bags that can hold helmet, gloves, boots and extra clothing all in one!

 Get Your Show Duds Ready! Winter Consignment Show and Visit from Becker Brothers on January 12th
Mark calendars now for Wednesday, January 12th. This will be a big day for 2011 Show prep! Dale Becker will be here for the day preparing our rider's clothing for the next year. Also, we will hold a big consignment show clothing sale at the same time. So SAVE THE DATE, dig through your closets. Parker will start accepting dry cleaned, labeled garments for the sale immediately.
