Enabling excellence in reflexology - AoR announce new bridging course for VTCT graduates

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new bridging course designed to help people who graduated on the old VTCT syllabus to take that extra step up to the standards currently expected of all AoR Full members. In a bid to continue the promotion of excellence in reflexology, we have undertaken an in depth comparison of where there are most likely to be gaps in the knowledge of these reflexologists and have commissioned a programme specifically designed to address these gaps.
The course consists of a set of online modules, a full day's practical work in small groups with specially selected tutors, and evaluations throughout, which ensure that only the very best reflexologists are accepted for Full membership. It will become available to VTCT qualified practitioners in June 2011. Attendees must pass each of the online modules and also the face to face evaluation day in order to qualify for MAR status.
We hope that you will join with us in wishing our first set of Bridging students the very best of luck for the course. We look forward to welcoming successful graduates to our community of Full members later in the year. |

Update on complaints
A few of our members were contacted just before Easter by CNHC to say that someone has complained about their website. The CNHC has now written to everyone affected to ask them to review their site content and make appropriate changes within 4 weeks of receiving the letter. If you have been affected, then you may like to refer to the recent article in Reflexions giving some guidance and information.
CNHC have advised us that if you have been affected and are unsure about the specific details of what caused the complaint, they would be happy for you to contact them on 0203 178 2199 for more information.
We have also been advised by CNHC that the Chair of the Advertising Standards Agency has asked his Director of Complaints to meet with CNHC to try to resolve matters concerning wording on websites and other promotional materials. |

Reflexions - have your say!

As those of you who frequent our social networking sites have discovered, we're starting to talk about which topics you might like your Reflexions magazine to cover in 2012.
Reflexions is a magazine that will always be dedicated to meeting our members' needs wherever possible, so we would welcome your suggestions on a few topics you might like to see covered in the near future. If you have an opinion about a topic you'd really like to see covered soon, please let me know by joining the conversations on Facebook or Twitter, or by emailing me on loccleston@aor.org.uk. I'd love to hear from you, so please do let me know what you think... |

A recommendation from some reflexologists
Several reflexologists have noticed a small but established jeweller who makes pieces of jewellery incorporating the design of tiny footprints, and thought you might like to know about them.
The jeweller's name is Wendy Kemp, and she designs and makes her own jewellery. Her inspiration for the footprints jewellery was a friend who had recently lost their baby, so 25% of all of her sales is donated to the charity SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity). If you are interested to see more of the jewellery, her website is www.wendykempjewellery.co.uk.
If you would like to find out more about the charity SANDS, please visit their website at http://www.uk-sands.org. |

Over 60 reflex points are clearly defined on the chart, which shows both plantar and dorsal aspects of the feet. For more information or to purchase one of these charts, please feel free to visit the AoR Sales page. |
