Online Authorizations and Referrals Update
|
In working through our pilot program to launch NHP's Authorization and Referral tool on NHPNet, we have decided to defer our launch of the module and the new referral requirement until Monday, September 10, 2012.*
Feedback from our pilot program was that it would be easier for providers to have all lines of business go live simultaneously. This also provides NHP the opportunity to offer a richer set of enhancements to optimize your experience.
This means that NHP will continue with its existing authorization process through September 10, 2012. You should continue to fax your authorization requests to NHP's existing fax lines.
We thank our pilot sites for their valuable feedback, and we will continue to work with them in gearing up for this launch. We appreciate your patience as we work to make this transition as smooth as possible for our network of providers and our members/patients.
*NHP members with a Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates (HVMA) PCP will still require a referral to be seen outside of HVMA.

Best Practice Transfer Tool Kits
|
NHP collaborated with some of our network practice sites who are focusing on continuous quality improvements interventions in Mammography Screening and Emergency Room Diversion. Together we developed Best Practice Transfer Tool Kits to outline the specific concepts and actions steps used to achieve quality improvement success in these two areas. These kits are firmly grounded by data and each Tool Kit has been developed using the PDSA-Cycle of Continuous Improvement (Plan Do Study Act).
In efforts to share Best Practice information we are making these Tool Kits available to the entire network. The Tool Kits are available at the link below. Please feel free to utilize these Tools at your practice site.

NHP's Formulary Drug Lookup
|

Our Drug Lookup is a searchable database designed to provide information about NHP drug coverage. It provides the following information:
- Whether a drug is covered under a member's plan
- Copay information (drug tier)
- Prior authorization requirements and other plan limitations
- Availability of a drug through NHP's Access90 program
- Availability of a drug through NHP's mail order program

Sleep Management Solutions (SMS) Update

Effective May 1, 2012, NHP is partnering with Sleep Management Solutions (SMS) to provide sleep diagnostic and therapy management services for all NHP product lines.
