November, 2010
Greetings!

I hope this message finds you well, ready to kick off the Holiday season and to take full advantage of the many bargains to be presented to us all in the weeks ahead.

Please find below a brief list of important Neighborhood Health Plan (NHP) updates.
In The News!

We are pleased to announce that NHP was recently recognized for its leadership in organizational diversity and inclusion, and will receive Color Magazine's "Leadership Organization" award at their Third Annual All-Inclusive Awards 2010.

Color Magazine is the premier all-inclusive monthly magazine that highlights topics of interest revolving around New England and New York's professionals of color.

In other news, our very own Kathy Foley, NP is the 2010 recipient of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) Frontline Nursing Distinguished Service Award.

ANAC's award focuses on recognizing recipients that demonstrate innovation, inspire peers in their practice, and promote excellence in HIV nursing.

We also want to share that Neighborhood Health Plan (NHP) ranked #3 in Medicaid in America, and second-highest in the state of Massachusetts, according to a ranking by the National Committee for Quality Assurance(NCQA). This is our third year in a row earning this "Honor Roll" distinction of being ranked one of the top five health plans in the country.

We are proud of these public acknowledgements of the importance of our mission to promote the health and wellness of the diverse populations we serve, something impossible without the contributions of our provider partners.

Important guidelines for billing vaccine administration codes become effective this January.

We are in the process of providing a resource for network providers with additional information on accurately billing for these services. We anticipate having this information available via our web site on or before December 1, 2010.

Please visit us often at www.nhp.org for important provider updates.

NHP Report Spotlight - Managing Member/Patient Retention

In this issue we want to highlight NHP's Redetermination Reports, available regularly to primary care providers.

These reports provide advanced notice of PCP patients at risk of losing health care coverage and include sufficient information to support outreach and retention efforts.

The data can be manipulated as desired and in addition to NHP's own outreach efforts, primary care offices use it successfully to remind patients as they come in for appointments of the immediate need to contact the State and supply required information to avoid a lapse in coverage.

To view the latest version of this report, click here to log in to your NHPNet account.

As always, we welcome your feedback on how we can continue to support your patient care efforts. Please report any suggestions to your dedicated NHP Provider Relations representative directly or e-mail Provider Relations at prweb@nhp.org
