Revised Explanation of Payment (EOP)
In response to provider feedback we have completed slight revisions to our EOPs concurrent with embarking on a more extensive assessment to identify additional opportunities for making these more comprehensive.

We've enhanced the Summary page to more clearly reflect beginning and ending balances, particularly when the EOP includes adjustments (also referred to as Advances) and offsets within a specific check.   To that end, we have added the following:
  • An Ending Balance from Prior EOP feature showing the total amount due to NHP from system generated and/or manual adjustments prior to the processing of that check run's transactions.
  • A Manual Adjustments field listing adjustments specific to the current check run.
These changes are scheduled to appear on EOPs received in your offices in mid March. Please visit the Provider section of our web site beginning March 1st to view a sample PDF copy of the revised EOP and more detailed information.

Additionally, please note that our Provider Relations staff will be reaching out to providers soliciting additional feedback on how we may improve our current EOPs. In the meantime, comments and suggestion may be emailed to our department at prweb@nhp.org.
