Alison Sweeney Starts and Finishes Big at the Historic Half

Alison Sweeney, host of the NBC series "The Biggest Loser," actress on "Days of Our Lives" and honorary Historic Half starter, enjoyed a successful visit to Fredericksburg. Besting her finish time goal by nearly ten minutes, Sweeney crossed the Historic Half finish line in 2:04:36. "My dad was a Marine, and I was really proud to be a part of this incredible event. I was definitely feeling it at some points along the course, but then at one water station I got a high five from a Marine who told me, "Alison, you got this." That totally fired me up," says Sweeney.

event's history. Reuben Mwei, 26, a native of Kenya, broke the Semper Fred 5K course record finishing in 15:27, which was 32 seconds faster than the 15:59 record set by Omari Daughtridge in 2010. Molly Roohi, 31, of King George, VA broke the Semper Fred 5K among women, finishing today's event in 19:03. The previous record of 19:37 was set by Robin Anneman in 2009.
