2nd Annual STEAM Colloquium

The CCCOE STEAM Colloquium is a forum to discuss and share best practices in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. Participants will include educators, business leaders, and community organizations. The colloquium will include breakout sessions and a keynote speaker.

Planned Schedule of Events:

7:30 - 8:00 Registration, Poster Session

8:00 - 8:45 Opening Remarks

9:00 - 11:45 Breakout Sessions

12:00 - 1:30 Keynote: Georgette Yakman, Founder, STEAM Education
 
STEAM Education - Integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. A substantiated and reality-based framework for teaching across the disciplines.

Georgette Yakman - While working on advanced certificates from VATech in Integrated STEM Education, Ms. Yakman developed an educational framework called STEAM. She taught STEAM at a disadvantaged rural high school where she started a nationally winning engineering team her first year. She is the immediate-past president of her state division of teachers. In 2011 she co-launched a movement in Korea to use STEAM nationally as an innovative way to teach K-12.

Tickets are $25.00 and include a continental breakfast and lunch.
