The Art of Marilyn Witkowski

April 2011    News From My Studio
You're Invited!

Greetings!

Please join me on Saturday, April 9 to celebrate the 30th birthday of the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center and the selection of one of my prints for exhibition.

If you have never been to Pyramid Atlantic, you'll find it's an exciting place where artists produce a variety of works on paper, including etchings, woodcuts, lithographs, and silkscreens. Many artists create note cards, posters, invitations, and other original art using the studio's letterpress printer. Some artists also make their own paper and create pulp paintings.

Each year, all prints (works on/in paper and book arts) are considered for the Annual Member's Juried Exhibition. This year, 700 artworks were judged and 50 were selected for the exhibition, including Dolles of Rehoboth Beach, which I completed last year.

Saturday's celebration will feature artist demonstrations, studio tours, live music, hands on arts activities, door prizes, art raffles, an assortment of elegant letterpress birthday cards for sale, cake and ice cream, and the Member's Exhibition.

Date: Saturday April 9
Place:Pyramid Atlantic Art Center
8230 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910
Time: 2 pm to 5 pm (Artist Reception at 3 pm)

Please come if you can. It's free, open to the public, and I'd love to see you there!

Marilyn

P.S. The Member's Exhibition will be shown in the Washington Printmakers Gallery (on the second floor of Pyramid Atlantic) through April 22.
