The Art of Marilyn Witkowski

Happy Holidays!

Greetings!

With Thanksgiving only a few days away, I'm reminded of many things I am thankful for. For starters, I'm thankful for the opportunity to devote my energy to my art. I'm equally thankful for you, my family and friends, who have supported me in my art endeavors, especially this past year. It was very gratifying to see so many of you at my first solo art exhibit in August and September.

Going back to college for the better part of 2010 enriched my art capabilities enormously. To showcase some of my newer artworks, I've expanded my website. You'll see I'm having great fun exploring the possibilities of using the computer to further develop pen and graphite drawings, manipulate photographs, and more.

I hope you all enjoy a happy and healthy holiday season filled with beauty, joy, and wonderful possibilities!

Dolles of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Serigraph of Dolles of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

I'm guessing many of you are familiar with Dolles of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It's famous for its salt water taffy and for being perfectly located on the boardwalk right next to the ocean. To capture its allure, I photographed Dolles many times this past summer. I used one of my photographs as the basis for my digital illustration to produce this nine-color silkscreen print.

The image size measures 8 X 10 inches. The framed print with double matting under glass measures 16 X 18 inches.

Digital Portrait of Bride and Groom Kissing
Last year, my nephew Eric married his high school sweetheart just before the sun set in Los Angeles, California. I still remember Nicole walking down the aisle to the music of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

To capture this beautiful moment in their lives, I created a digital wedding portrait especially for them. To view larger and see other illustration samples, please click here.

  Photo Transformations

How would like to have a  favorite family or pet photo transformed into a work of art? In the above example, I used my son's school colors to tint his face. The possibilities for editing, restoring, and enhancing photos are endless.

Art makes a wonderful gift. See Gift Ideas on my website for more examples.
