Finding Peace in Greece
My Art at the Strathmore
Greetings!

Hi. I'm pleased to share my newest commissioned painting with you. It is based on a photo of Katerina and her young son taken during their summer vacation in Greece a couple of years ago.

Katerina traveled with Ryan to Greece not long after getting a divorce. After many difficult months, this trip was more than just the perfect time for Katerina to introduce Ryan to her family living in Greece. It was their time to build an even stronger bond and begin their new, peaceful life. It's why I titled the painting "Finding Peace in Greece."

Since starting my art career, I've worked from recent and nostalgic family photos to accomplish my paintings. To see some of the photos I worked from and the finished paintings, visit more examples on my website.

Please feel free to share my new works with your family and friends by clicking on the "forward email" link below. If you have any comments or questions, please send them to me at info@marilynwitkowski.com.

I wish you all a peaceful and happy summer!

Mother sitting close to her young son on chairs in Greece
I was asked to do this painting using the photo below, which shows Katerina and her son Ryan sitting on two chairs against a stone wall in Greece. To translate their peaceful mood to the painting and make it reminiscent of being in Greece, I used cool colors throughout. I painted similar colors on their clothes to show the strong bond between the mother and her son.

The original, acrylic on canvas painting, measures 30 X 38 inches. To view the painting larger, simply click on the image above.
