LAW Fund Receives Grant to Sustain Beleaguered Legal Aid Providers
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced a three-year, $3 million grant to bolster legal aid for low-income Washingtonians on October 29. IOLTA revenues have dropped by 80% - a loss of more than $7 million - in the last two years. Without the Gates Foundation grant, drastic funding cuts would have spelled disaster for our state's legal aid programs. Members of the Washington Bar Association, members of the judiciary, and concerned citizens throughout the state are joining with the Gates Foundation to support LAW Fund's Campaign for Equal Justice to help meet the pressing needs of families struggling to survive the recession. Be a part of the team. As demand for legal aid continues to grow, we still need your help. Have you made your annual contribution to the Campaign? CLICK HERE TO DONATE. |
