City OKs Abatement for Business Addition
IBC Coatings Technologies Plans Expansion
Lebanon - IBC Coatings Technologies, Inc. was approved for a 10-year tax abatement on a new 9,000 square foot expansion to its building at 902 Hendricks Drive, by the Lebanon City Council at Monday's meeting.
"This is a great story," said Lebanon Mayor Huck Lewis. "Six to eight months ago, they came in front of us for a tax abatement for an expansion, and now they're adding on again."
The company's business is booming after being awarded a military contract. On the first tax abatement forms for the company's main building in 2002, the number of employees was estimated to be four. It now employs 35 people. Read more....

Whitestown Council Approves Abatement
The Whitestown Town Council unanimously approved during its meeting Tuesday a tax abatement to Indiana Industrial services to expand its building.
Indiana Industrial will be expanding its building, 5294 Performance Way, by 40,000 square feet, which will add 10 skilled employees. Indiana Industrial has been in business for 25 years, and specializes in installing equipment used to handle materials such as conveyors or carousels.
"They are exceeding their hiring," Council President Dawn Semmler said. "They are literally busting at the seams in the current building."
The tax abatement will last for 10 years. The projected total amount to be abated is $103,206. The projected total amount of taxes that will be paid on the existing building is $295,829. Read more....

Zionsville Chamber Names New Executive Director
The Zionsville Chamber of Commerce has hired Julie Johns Cole as the new executive director. Cole most recently served as a senior project consultant for Indianapolis based Thomas P. Miller & Associates. Prior to joining TPMA, she was employed by the City of Angola as Economic Development and Planning director, where she led several significant projects including the planning and implemtation of a major downtown revitalization project that was recognized with a Community Impact Award by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. WeBo Makes Prestigious List
US News and World Report has ranked Western Boone 28th in the state of Indiana.
Western Boone County Community School Superintendent Judi Hendrix presented the good news at last week's meeting of the Western Boone School Board of Trustees.
The tank is "based on college readiness and student-techer ratio," Hendrix said. "We are excited to be recognized as a silver school in the state of Indiana. Read more....
