Dos and Don'ts of setting up
a choral audition
A rather tongue-in-cheek reminder

Do show the singers respect by dressing professionally.  Show that you care about the time and energy they've spent in getting there.

Don't expect them to spend more than a half hour at the audition, unless it's been clarified ahead of time.

Do make the pay status of the position clear before scheduling the audition.

Don't make faces as they sing.

Do make sure any music the singers must sightread is clearly copied and reasonably legible.
