The Business Card
The most powerful tool
in your arsenal

You know the drill:  you meet someone at a rehearsal or concert, want to let them know you're available for subbing or solos or fame and fortune or whatever, and then something cuts your conversation short.  You have mere seconds to get your information to them, whether or not a pen and pencil are available.  Your business card is the best and most effective marketing material possible.

Gone are the days of standard one-color cards, as full-color printing is now easy and very affordable.  Many printing options are now available for a very reasonable price, with several under $25 for 250 cards.  These services result in higher-quality cards than are generally possible when printing at home, and

Yet it's surprising to find so many singers who don't carry business cards.  If you haven't had some made up yet, now's the time.  When in doubt, keep it simple:  even a card that carries your name, voice part, phone number and email address will help work find you.  It's just a matter of getting that information into the right hands.

So, whether you need more cards or need your very first, take a look at the following sites for a few easy options.  The cards are printed on high-quality stock at a reasonable price, and a variety of designs are available.  You can also upload your own graphics!  Be sure to browse their other printing options, too, for future reference.  These sites offer exceptional deals on posters, flyers and postcards, as well as other items!

Digital Room, a division of U-Printing, is my favorite, and I've used them several times for various projects.  They offer high-quality, glossy cards at around $25 for 250.  Templates are available, you can upload your own graphics, or you can use their interactive u-design system.  They're located in Westwood, so you can also save shipping costs if it's convenient to pick them up.

is one of the largest online printers.  They offer a variety of "free" business cards, available for just the cost of shipping (usually about $6).  But their basic rates are also quite reasonable.

For cutting-edge designs (and a little more money, starting at $21.99 for 50 cards),Moo.com is a trend setter.
