Happy Father's Day...

To "our" Fathers and especially one Divine Father.

Don't miss the multi-media exhibit MARIE REMEMBERED: Seven Men Lost At Sea Expanding Frontiers of Infrared  at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum - (Display and Documentary).  The exhibit runs June 7-21, 2010 to create the 'Days of Honor' mirroring the days in 1960.  The exhibit is a result of the families and friends-of-families uniting their memories, pictures, and resources to honor the seven men lost at sea on the vessel Marie.  Organized and researched by me, daughter of Jim Terres, it includes some of the extensive research I conducted coast to coast and brings to light a story buried for fifty years in recently declassified documents scattered throughout archives across the U.S.  This is a story that begs for acknowledgement and an honorable and honest telling of events for loved ones and the community to come full circle to finally learn what happened on June 7, 1960.

Review of The MARIE Commemoration Event

The first-ever Marie Commemoration (Social, Ceremony, and Wreath Laying Boat-ride) was... "Magical", "Spiritual", "Magnificent", "Superb", "Breathtaking" and the most repeated word was simply... "Wow"!  The activities exceeded expectations - 70 enjoyed the social, 80+ attended the ceremony, and 40 experienced a sunrise with "a thousand dolphins circling the boat" marking the spot to hold the wreath laying ceremony and "three whales who lingered near for twenty min."

Many folks didn't want to break the family-by-circomstance connections and also attended Sunday's Open House hosted by Albert Terres and Lynda Williams-Terres.  Here the Williams & Reed kids  commandeered the kitchen, produced a feast.

Pictures will be added to the website scrapbook if you send yours in so we can REMEMBER & ENJOY!
