Dear Friends of Sparky,
A lot of exciting things are happening right now! I had a terrific time being on the panel at the Santa Barbra Writers Conference last month. This MarketingtheMuse Entrepreneurial Author Panel discussed diversifying platform, 'giving back' & branding in the publishing industry.
I am releasing Sparky the Wonderfish as an iPad and iPhone app. which will hopefully launch at the Orange County Children's Book Festival on October 2, 2011, in a new media room being built.
Also, I began editing a film at Warner Bros. Which is why it has taken me this long to send out this newsletter and why it might not be as 'put together' as my previous newsletters, but I hope it is...!
This coming weekend, Saturday July 23 and Sunday July 24, I will be reading from 12:30pm to 12:40pm and I will be autographing my books all day, both days from 11:00am to 8:00pm, at the Barnes & Noble Marina Pacifica Mall in Long Beach.

Sparky the Wonderfish: A Story of How Love Creates Magic
Gillian Lee Hutshing is involved in many children's charities and literacy programs throughout the United States. Ms. Hutshing has repeatedly been a featured author and title at Book Expo America, West Hollywood Book Fair, LA Times Festival of Books, Orange County Children's Book festival, Orange County Department of Education Young Authors' Faire and the Santa Barbara Writers Conference. Ms. Hutshing has had numerous signings and events at Barnes & Noble Booksellers and Borders Bookstores throughout California. Ms. Hutshing is on the Advisory Board, and is the Booksellers Chairman for the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society (GLAWS) as well as Chairman for the Orange County Children's Book Fair Award Committee (OCCBF).
