Dear Friends of Sparky,
Hi, we're closing in on Summer and I have been very busy! My Reading & Signing at the Washington Accelerated Elementary School in Pasadena last month was fantastic! Special thanks to Adriana Rosales who set the whole thing up with stage, microphone and posters all over the school! I read for 800 kids in two large groups. K through 3rd then 4th through 6th Graders. The kids had a lot of great questions during the Q & A and everyone had a wonderful time (photos posted on My Blog).
I now have 3 dates scheduled at Barnes & Noble Booksellers around Los Angeles with more locations booking soon. I am developing a great relationship with this company and involving Sparky the Wonderfish in various charity and outreach programs.
I am also working on my "Sparky the Wonderfish Gulf Coast Hope & Literacy Tour" taking my children's book "Sparky The Wonderfish" and using this "story of how love creates magic" to help rebuild the Gulf Coast disaster areas. The project is aimed toward the educational wants and needs of the children effected by these disasters, i.e. schools, libraries and hospitals. I plan to raise enough money to donate a check to rebuild at least one new green school and library along the Gulf Coast.

 A couple of months ago The Greater Los Angeles Writers Society (GLAWS) President, Co-President, Chair and Co-Chair had a meeting with the Community Relations Manager from Barnes & Noble Booksellers at The Grove to discuss a partnership. Our first collaboration will be an event at The Grove location June 13th (7-9pm) & 14th (3-5pm). GLAWS will be featuring 20 authors. Gillian is the chair of the GLAWS Booksellers Committee for these upcoming events.
