Dear Friends of Sparky,
Happy Spring! I have been very busy and didn't send out a Newsletter in March. March was mostly setting up and confirming April through June events... I am working on my "Sparky the Wonderfish Gulf Coast Hope & Literacy Tour" taking my children's book "Sparky The Wonderfish" and using this "story of how love creates magic" to help rebuild the Gulf Coast disaster areas, aimed towards the educational wants and needs of the children effected by these disasters i.e. schools, libraries, hospitals. I am joining forces with my friend Joanie, artistic director for an internationally owned private school on the central coast. She is also interested in environmental and political issues facing children ages 3 to 15. Her brother Don lives on the Gulf Coast and is helping us connect with the right people. We are in the process of researching the stops we will make and what the needs are as far as books and supplies. We are also pursuing print and media attention to support our efforts. We may even get the LA Lakers involved. Joanie and I will be traveling to the Gulf Coast sometime soon to do "boots on the ground" research. We are looking for sponsors, so if anyone knows a company who would be interested or you yourself would like to contribute, we appreciate all the help we can get. My goal is to renew interest and get peoples lives back on track - it's been messed up for too long!!!

Gillian is the Chair of the Booksellers Events for The Greater Los Angeles Writers Society (GLAWS). President, co-president, chair and co-chair had a meeting with the Community Relations Manager, Matt Lohr from Barnes & Noble Booksellers Grove location to discuss a partnership.
