21st Century Technology Meets Classic Animation
Caught on Film: Hopalong Casualty
"Caught on Film ™: Hopalong Casualty

The Caught On Film™ collection is the first in a series of Chuck Jones filmstrip sequences illuminated in magnificent LED technology. "Hopalong Casualty" is the inaugural release in this series. Inspired by the classic 1960 Wile E. Coyote & Road Runner cartoon of the same name, history's most famous chase is the first to be stunningly immortalized in this new limited edition collection. Two years in the making, this 5 panel image is taken directly from the opening of the Jones directed "Hopalong Casualty" and has been lovingly redirected by celebrated director, Eric Goldberg whom Mr. Jones personally anointed as today's greatest living draftsman (credits include Disney's Pocahontas, Aladdin, Fantasia 2000, Frog Princess and Looney Tunes Back in Action). Mr. Goldberg has hand signed the final panel and added a unique remarqué of a very frustrated Wile E. Coyote, as well. The edition of only 25 examples measures 33.5 inches high x 9 inches wide x 2.5 inches deep.

The artwork has been created using a sophisticated new printing process on archival acrylic. It is then framed and backlit with a brilliant LED panel contained inside its frame. The light panel is lit with Nichia LED Chips. Nichia is known for its quality of light, lumen output per watt, color rendering, and energy efficiency. Your Caught on Tape™ is a low voltage light box taking less than 12 watts to light the image. The LED's are rated for up to 80,000 hours and are projected through a proprietary diffuser for clarity of image, vividity, and balance of color. If you left it on for 880 hours it would cost less than $1.50 in electricity. The image is printed by a Lightjet Printer on FujiTrans Film, used most often to print fine art photographs. It creates the highest resolution with 300 dpi continuous tone; colors are vivid, depth is visible, and saturation is balanced. After printing, the image is face-mounted on a museum-quality, non-glare clear acrylic. The anodized frame system has been created to maintain its appearance for many years. As with all fine art, exposure to sunlight is to be avoided.
