Upcoming Programs
Saturdays at the Center

Drop In and Draw: Open to the public, from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM Every Saturday.

What better way to start a weekend than by sitting down with your children and exploring their creativity with the nurturing guidance of the Center's resident teaching artist, Christopher Scardino. There's plenty of paper, pencils, crayons, and enough other materials on hand to create your very own masterpiece! Unleash your inner Picasso. Nominal donation for materials requested.

Visual Arts Interest Program: A Girl Scouts exclusive, from 1-4 PM Saturday, June 9th.

We are all creative! Creating visual images is fun and can improve your memory! Have fun, boost your brain power and recycle too. Girls will learn about what it takes to become an artist, by learning about perspective, composition, color and design, light and shadow. While listening to music, girls will paint or draw, and create a sculpture with recycled items.
Since we are at the Chuck Jones Center- girls will learn about Chuck Jones (Road Runner, Bugs Bunny) as an artist and philosopher. The service project is recycling and we will talk about Art Therapy for the career component of the Interest Project.

If you're interested in planning this type of event for your club or interest group, please contact us at info@ChuckJonesCenter.org

The Chuck Jones Quote of the Week

"The whole essence of good drawing--and of good thinking, perhaps--is to work a subject down to the simplest form possible and still have it believable for what it is meant to be."

Excerpted from "Stroke of Genius: A Collection of Paintings and Musings on Life, Love, and Art by Chuck Jones", available here. Your donation will go to the programs of the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity.

About Us
The Chuck Jones Center for Creativity, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was founded in 1999 by the four time Academy Award recipient, legendary director, and creator Chuck Jones. The Center is located in Orange County, California at South Coast Collection, just north of the 405 at Harbor.

The Center's vision is to inspire the innate creative genius within each person that leads to a more joyous, passionate, and harmonious life and world.

In today's world, when arts education is practically non-existent, this is an important goal; we are dedicated to reinvigorating the creative spirit and we are doing it through art classes, exhibitions, lectures, and film festivals, all of which spring from the material in the Chuck Jones archive. Jones was a determined saver and his writings, art, and other ephemera from a nine-decade life along with his philosophy of guiding and nurturing instruction form the basis of our programs.

If you would like to donate your time or your money to our programs, please contact Pam Marsden at 949-660-7791 x 108 or Pam@ChuckJonesCenter.org
