Chuck 1996 Oscars
Chuck Jones accepts his Lifetime Achievement Oscar at the 1996 Academy Awards.

YIPE! It's Your Birthday!

On May 25, 1946, Chuck Jones's "Hair-Raising Hare" debuted in theaters marking the first of only two appearances of the big, lump-headed orange monster, eventually named "Gossamer", during the Golden Age of Looney Tunes cartoons, the other being Jones's 1952 short cartoon, "Water, Water, Every Hare".

Gossamer, with his sneakers, and fear of large crowds, quickly became one of Jones's most memorable creations. Who among you does not remember, "You meet the most in-ter-resting people," purred by Bugs Bunny as he does the monster's nails and then his 'hair'. It is to laugh.

Hair-Raising Hare
"Hair-Raising Hare", hand-painted cel art edition by Chuck Jones.
To commemorate this special occasion, the Chuck Jones Gallery is offering the 16 field pan (13.5" x 33") hand-painted cel art edition, "Hair-Raising Hare" for only $495.66, a considerably savings over its regular price of $1775.00 unframed. Chuck Jones drew the original line that was then transferred to an acetate sheet and expertly painted by professional cel painters; Mr. Jones then hand-signed each example in the edition. This special opportunity is only available through Sunday, May 27, 2012. Call your Chuck Jones Gallery art consultant for details and to reserve your work of art.

Gossamer

This rarely available edition limited to just 120 examples has been lovingly recreated from his original drawing, each Artist Proof is hand-signed. The opportunity to own one of these rare Artist Proofs is only available through Sunday, May 27, 2012. Call your Chuck Jones Gallery art consultant for details and to reserve your work of art.
