Greetings!
It is not only the oral tradition he created (what is bedtime without Dr. Seuss after all), but also his iconic visual acuity that makes Ted Geisel one of the great figures of 20th century arts and letters. With the simplest of grammar, the least of words, and an eccentric economy of line, he transformed the world of children's illustrated literature forever.
Ted Geisel became friends with Chuck Jones in the 1940s when they both worked on the "Private SNAFU" cartoons for the war effort. After the war and after a series of unfortunate experiences with Hollywood, Geisel went back to his home in La Jolla. It took Chuck to convince him to return to Hollywood in the late 1960s and two of the most cherished animated television special's were the result: "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas", and "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!"
It is with great pride that the Chuck Jones Galleries represent the art of this illustrious and talented artist, author and raconteur. Please join us as we present the latest series of original limited edition artwork from the hand of this master, "Secrets of the Deep", and consider adding his highly sought-after work to your collection.
