The Chuck Jones Gallery is thrilled to present, for the first time in San Diego, an exhibition and sale devoted to the creative genius that is Ralph Bakshi. Since 1972 when he burst upon the scene with his ground-breaking and provocative feature film, "Fritz the Cat" through the rest of his decade's long career, Bakshi has continued to create visually stunning, delightfully insouciant animated films that tweak the preconceived notion of what is expected of animation.
Not only will the gallery be the setting for original production art from many of his most popular films, but it will also premier Bakshi's paintings and mixed media works where you'll find the same passionate use of color and amazing storytelling ability that is a hallmark of his most profound and provocative films.
Join us Friday evening, July 22nd, from 7 to 10 PM as we welcome his son, animation director and producer, Edward Bakshi, along with special guest, animator (Holli Would), Steve Gordon. Whether you're an animation fan or a collector of fine art, the evening promises to be one not to be missed!
