The Chuck Jones Galleries are pleased to announce
the arrival of the
Courvoisier Miniatures Collection!

a smile and a song
In 1937 Courvoisier Galleries introduced original Disney animation art to the world, and
for ten years sold the brilliant pieces that today form the cornerstone of virtually every collection of vintage Disney art.

"The idea behind the new Courvoisier Miniatures Collection was to turn back the clock and rekindle the Disney flame of those bygone times and bring the techniques that personified Disney art in 1937 to a whole new generation," said David Pacheco, Disney Master Artist and art director for the Collection.

Courvoisier Miniatures are hand-inked and painted and embellished with original style special effects in the tradition of the finest Disney handmade art.  Airbrushed enhancements, such as delicate shadows and glittering frost, are applied individually to each cel with Paasche airbrushes, as they were originally.  Produced by hand in small editions, each individual cel art is beautifully framed according to the strictest archival and museum standards.

Two editions are now available:   A Smile and A Song  created from original art from Disney's 1937 masterpiece, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was entirely hand-inked and painted utilizing 20 paint colors and 17 ink colors custom matched to the original.  Her hair is dry-brushed, her cheeks touched with blush, and the image finished with airbrush, just as it was in 1937.

The Frost Fairies sequence of Walt Disney's Fantasia lasted only 37 seconds, yet in that time the exquisite sprites skated their way into our hearts.  Winter Magic is hand-inked and painted using Disney ink and paint colors, milled and matched to the original Disney formulas.  Each Frost Fairy is drybrushed and her wings are airbrushed, exactly as they were in 1940 using Paasche airbrushes.
