ESI: Using the Verbal User Guide (Help Mode)

Your ESI phone system's Help mode (also called the Verbal User Guide) - a carefully conceived combination of spoken information, display readouts, and even key illumination when appropriate - is a powerful tool to help you learn how to use the system's many features.
As explained elsewhere, your ESI phone has a combo PROG/HELP key unless it is a 48-Key Feature Phone (which has separate PROGRAM and HELP keys). Under the circumstances described in this section, the PROG/HELP key will invoke Help mode. The ESI Cordless Handsets have no access to the Verbal User Guide (and, therefore, no key to invoke it).
Tutorial When your station is idle, press PROG/HELP, and then follow the spoken Help menu to: - Learn how to use the phone
- Hear a description of how any key is used
- Learn how to use voice mail features
- Hear a complete tutorial on phone operation
Help during station programming To hear a detailed description of a function you wish to program, press PROG/HELP while programming it. Help during a call Press PROG/HELP while on a call and this will place the call on hold, whereupon you can use Help mode to hear a description of the function you wish to perform. When you exit Help mode, you will be reconnected to the call. While you are either in Help mode or programming your phone, your station will be temporarily placed in DND ("do-not-disturb"; see "MUTE/DND"). Anyone calling your station while you are in DND will be forwarded to your mailbox (or other destination set by the Installer). Exiting Help mode To exit Help mode, simply hang up. |
Features You Need to Best Protect Microsoft Exchange
Mark Campbell, Unitrends | Modern Backup 2 Blog
In my last post, I provided an overview of the Exchange data protection architecture provided by Microsoft. If you're unfamiliar with how VSS-based Exchange backups (also called snapshots) work, I'd recommend checking it out.
In today's post, I'm going to share some of the top reasons why my company, Unitrends, offers the best data protection for Microsoft Exchange in the industry. I shortened the list a great deal. If you'd like to peruse the list in its entirety, including reading greater descriptions of each feature, I'd recommend downloading my free whitepaper, Protecting Windows: Microsoft Exchange Server Data Protection.

- Full and differential backups of mailbox and public folder databases; Unitrends offers full and differential backups of the entire Exchange Server infrastructure.
- Full a priori Exchange integrity checking performed inline; Unitrends performs complete inline Exchange Server integrity validation before it invokes the Exchange Server VSS writer infrastructure for validation of the Exchange Server storage infrastructure.

6 Tips for a Paperless Office
Many people who use computers-whether it's for their home or business - are moving toward a "paperless" office. Simply, they are tired and overwhelmed by scraps of paper, clunky old file folders, envelopes - and they want to reduce the clutter.
Don't believe me? Take a look at how many messages are stored in your e-mail's in-basket. Now imagine how much paper would have been generated if they hadn't come to you from cyberspace.
Many folks have made at least a partial move to a paperless office. They're doing so this way: by using scanners instead of copying machines, sending electronic faxes instead of paper faxes, storing information electronically instead of in filing cabinets, giving friends, clients, or vendors information on CDs or through Internet attachments instead of in bound folders. In short, they're getting greater return on their hardware, software, and technology investments.
Want to join the anti-paper campaign? Save a few trees along the way? Here are six things to keep in mind as you move toward a paperless home or business office.
