Reaching Your
Still Point Within There is within each of us a nugget of inner strength. Some call it the Still Point Within. Many people reach their still point through sitting meditation; others do so through exercise or dance. Some reach it through the process of creativity. Sometimes the creative process involves drawing, sometimes it is painting, sometimes it is writing or singing; sometimes it is a combination of two or even three of these creative endeavors. When we reach our inner still point, we feel calm, focused, and energized. We feel nourished and replenished. Have you felt your inner still point lately? Oh, you are too busy. You barely have time to do the things on your to-do list everyday. The fact is that you never will get it all done. You simply can't. Projects lead to projects. That is the nature of life. I know how you feel. I feel that way too. Now I thank my lucky stars for leading me to the Life Drawing class I am taking this semester. I almost took it last semester, but I "didn't have the time". I almost didn't take it this semester because I didn't think I could afford it. Now I know that I couldn't afford to NOT take it! Now I know how unbalanced my life had become because I wasn't taking the time to reach my inner still point and replenish myself. We simply MUST take care to nourish our inner selves on a regular basis. We do this when we do something special, like taking a class, or attending a lecture, recital, concert, or live theater. We live in an unbalanced world of "haves" and "have nots". If you are reading this, no matter your current circumstances, you are most likely one of the "haves". Do not feel guilty. Feel appreciation and take action to show your appreciation. Buy a ticket to the symphony, the opera, or a play. By doing so you will enjoy yourself and nourish yourself while supporting the arts. Purchase that painting, photograph, or print that you have been longing to see in your home. If you have the money, spend it! That is how you share your wealth and nourish yourself in the process. Take that class you have been wanting to take. Perhaps it is your inner still point calling out to you. Listen. Reflect. Act. **********

"I REALLY enjoyed the class, thank you so much. Food was great, setting was beautiful, your teaching style is fun and relaxed. I was amazed at what I actually painted because I too have control-freak tendencies. : ) I've always loved your lush, bold colors and love that I'm achieving that in these paintings."
~ Kelly Kimura
"I want to send you a wee thank you for a great class. I felt a bit overwhelmed but I really enjoyed it, and am still enjoying thinking about what you taught us. :) Mahalo," ~ Deb S
